Jeff Cummings is currently the Planning Director for the Shaw Festival Theatre, Canada and is directly responsible for creating the rehearsal and performance schedules for all productions and performance spaces, rights and licensing, artist negotiating and contracting, and oversees Stage Management, Company Management and Housing Departments. As well, Jeff coordinates with the Slaight Family Academy for Emerging Artists, The Music Department and the Annual Directors Projects. Prior to re-joining the Shaw Festival in the summer of 2013, Jeff was the Production Manager at Young People’s Theatre from 2006. Jeff’s previous theatre experience was as a Technical Director for over 15 years with such companies as The Shaw Festival, Alberta Theatre Projects, Western Canada Theatre, The Edmonton Fringe Festival, the BC Festival of the Arts, and the Victoria Folk Festival. Jeff’s teaching and workshop experience includes; The National Theatre School of Canada, Ryerson University, Mount Royal College, Thompson Rivers University, and the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology. In 2012, Jeff was the inaugural recipient of the “DUX” Leadership Award for Outstanding Mentorship in the Performing Arts from the Cultural Human Resources Council of Canada.
