Canadian Theatre Agreement 2 (CTA 2)

No two shows are exactly the same, except for one constant: getting necessary work completed within the constraints of the time available, your fee, and your energy and health. Tracking work hours accurately is essential for building engager understanding of the actual workload of each show, and a contractual requirement. And when that workload necessarily exceeds limits set out in the CTA/ITA, we’ll talk about proactively getting permission for overtime or break penalties, and constructive responses when permission is not given. We’ll have a general look at employment standards, what they are, and when they apply. We’ll also take a particular look at the recent changes in meal break requirements, and how that can shape your day.
