John is a Full Professor at the University of Alberta where he leads the only specialized Stage Management University program in the country. He has stage managed for many of the major theatres in Canada including Catalyst Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Canadian Stage, Centaur Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, and the Banff Centre for the Arts. John was the Director of Production at the Citadel Theatre from 1998 to 2004. Most recently he stage managed Catalyst Theatre’s “The Invisible – Agents of Ungentlemanly Warfare” in Edmonton after touring it to Vertigo Theatre in Calgary in 2019.
