Louisa is an award-winning theatre maker & manager, a collaborator in design & production, a builder of systems & spaces, an instructor & consultant based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax

Current multidisciplinary projects include Aquakultre: 1783, Accidental Mechanics Group: The Unfamiliar Everything, Studio of Ursula Johnson/Kinuk, Home Ex Art Collective, and Mo Glitch’s postportalproject.

For over 25 years Louisa has supported, worked with and managed projects for 2b theatre company, Accidental Mechanics Group, Rosa Productions, reWork Productions, Zuppa, HEIST, Eastern Front Theatre, Kazan Co-op, Atlantic Film Festival, Neptune Theatre, Mulgrave Road Theatre and more; touring extensively—from Newfoundland to the Yukon, New York to California, and internationally across India, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the UK, and Ireland. She has presented work at large performing arts festivals including Edinburgh Fringe (UK), Sydney Festival (AUS), Mayfest (UK), Noorderzon (NL),Under the Radar Festival (NYC), Push Festival (BC) Aarhus Festival (DK), FTA (QC). Theaterformen (DE), and Cork Midsummer Festival (IE)

At home, Louisa is deeply invested in building community resource networks, and spaces. She is the founder and administrator of the Production Resources Network (active in 11 cities across Canada), and contributes actively to functional planning and facility development, operations, and consultation for cultural venues including; New Waterford Hub (2024-), Video Difference (2023-), Spatz Theatre (2011–2019), The Waiting Room (Halifax, 2014–2018), and a board member of the Legacy Centre and HEIST

Louisa was nominated for 2 Drama Desk Awards in 2018 including Best Set Design (Musical) and Best Lighting Design (Musical), and the show received 4 other nominations including Best Production. Recipient of Scotland’s prestigious Herald Angel and ‘Little Devil’ awards. She has also been recognized with seven Merritt Awards for stage management and design in Nova Scotia.
