Based in Vancouver, Theresa has built an international career as an opera stage manager. Over the past thirty seasons with Vancouver Opera’s Stage Management Department, she has helped bring nearly one hundred productions to the stage, including Lillian Alling, Madama Butterfly, Otello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Flight.

Beyond Vancouver Opera, Theresa has stage managed for companies such as Pacific Opera Victoria, the Banff Centre, the University of British Columbia’s Opera Department, Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland, and Garsington Opera in the UK. Her favourite credits include The Tempest, Kopernikus, Louis Riel, The Skating Rink (World Premiere), and Dinner at Eight (European Premiere).

Theresa has contributed to numerous critically acclaimed productions, including Garsington Opera’s Royal Philharmonic Society Award winning The Turn of the Screw, as well as Wexford Festival Opera’s double Irish Times Theatre Award winning Silent Night and the International Opera Award winning Guglielmo Ratcliff. Her work with Wexford Festival Opera has also earned recognition from the Stage Management Association in London, England.

As an educator, Theresa spent seven years as the Faculty Stage Manager for the opera program at the Banff Centre. She has been a guest lecturer for the University of British Columbia’s Theatre Department and an SM coach for the National Theatre School of Canada. She has mentored stage management interns at Garsington Opera and currently serves as the SM mentor for both Highlands Opera Studio and the Wexford Factory young artist program at Wexford Festival Opera.

Theresa is a graduate of UBC’s Technical Theatre and Design Program.
